A Calendar Of Sonnets: August Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDCSilence again The glorious symphony | A |
Hath need of pause and interval of peace | B |
Some subtle signal bids all sweet sounds cease | B |
Save hum of insects' aimless industry | A |
Pathetic summer seeks by blazonry | A |
Of color to conceal her swift decrease | B |
Weak subterfuge Each mocking day doth fleece | B |
A blossom and lay bare her poverty | A |
Poor middle aged summer Vain this show | C |
Whole fields of Golden Rod cannot offset | D |
One meadow with a single violet | E |
And well the singing thrush and lily know | C |
Spite of all artifice which her regret | D |
Can deck in splendid guise their time to go | C |
