A Calendar Of Sonnets: August Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDC

Silence again The glorious symphonyA
Hath need of pause and interval of peaceB
Some subtle signal bids all sweet sounds ceaseB
Save hum of insects' aimless industryA
Pathetic summer seeks by blazonryA
Of color to conceal her swift decreaseB
Weak subterfuge Each mocking day doth fleeceB
A blossom and lay bare her povertyA
Poor middle aged summer Vain this showC
Whole fields of Golden Rod cannot offsetD
One meadow with a single violetE
And well the singing thrush and lily knowC
Spite of all artifice which her regretD
Can deck in splendid guise their time to goC
