When The Light Is As Darkness Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAB CBCBCB DBDBDB EBEBEB FGFHFH

The morning tide is fair and brightA
With golden sun up springingB
The cedars glowed in the new born lightA
And the bell bird's note was ringingB
While diamonds dropped by dusky NightA
Were yet to the gidyas clingingB
-
The morning waned the sun rose highC
O'erhead until 'twas seemingB
But a dazzling disc and the fiery skyC
Like an opal sea was gleamingB
And languorous flowers of morn gone byC
And coming eve fell dreamingB
-
And now the moon above does creepD
To laugh at red Sol sinkingB
While wakening from their sunlit sleepD
A few wan stars are blinkingB
And thirsty drooping flowers deepD
Of evening dews are drinkingB
-
The birds will soon their carols ceaseE
And crows are homeward hieingB
The gloaming deepens stars increaseE
The weary day is dyingB
Its requiem murmurous of peaceE
The vesper winds are sighingB
-
This night is near Are you waiting friendF
That Night we're drawing nigh itG
When we to the Restful Land shall wendF
And leave life's feverish riotH
When the gods to each tired soul shall sendF
Eternal dreamless quietH
