Night Thought Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDAFAG ADADAHAHBFBG

The world around is sleepingA
The stars are bright o'erheadB
The shades of myalls weepingA
Upon the sward are spreadB
Among the gloomy pinetopsC
The fitful breezes blowD
And their murmurs seem the musicE
Of a song of long agoD
Soft passionate and wailingA
Is the tender old refrainF
With a yearning unavailingA
Will he no come back againG
-
The camp fire sparks are flyingA
Up from the pine log's glowD
The wandering wind is sighingA
That ballad sweet and lowD
The drooping branches gleamingA
In the firelight sway and stirH
And the bushman's brain is dreamingA
Of the song she sang and herH
And the murmurs of the forestB
Ring home to heart and brainF
As in the pine is chorusedB
Wi he no come back againG
