At The River-crossing Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD ABAB EDED EFEF GHGH IJIJ KLLL

Oh the quiet river crossingA
Where we twain were wont to rideB
Where the wanton winds were to singA
Willow branches o'er the tideB
-
-
There the golden noon would find usC
Dallying through the summer dayD
All the waery world behind usC
All it's tumult far awayD
-
-
Oh thoe rides across the crossingA
Where the shallow stream runs wideB
When the sunset's beams were glossingA
Strips of sand on either sideB
-
-
We would cross the sparkling riverE
On the brown horse and the bayD
Watch the willows sway and shiverE
And their trembling shadows playD
-
-
When the opal tints waxed dullerE
And a gray crept o'er the skiesF
Yet there stayed the blue sky's colorE
In your dreamy dark blue eyesF
-
-
How the sun god's bright caressesG
When we rode at sunet thereH
Plaited among your braided tressesG
Gleaming on your silky hairH
-
-
When the last sunlight's gloryI
Faded off the sandy barsJ
There we learnt the old old storyI
Riding homeward 'neat the starsJ
-
-
'Tis a memory to be hoardedK
Oh the follish tale and fondL
Till another stream be fordedL
And we reach the Great BeyondL
