Through the bound cable strands the arching pathA
Upward veering with light the flight of stringsB
Taut miles of shuttling moonlight syncopateC
The whispered rush telepathy of wiresD
Up the index of night granite and steelE
Transparent meshes fleckless the gleaming stavesF
Sibylline voices flicker waveringly streamG
As though a god were issue of the stringsB
-
And through that cordage threading with its callH
One arc synoptic of all tides belowI
Their labyrinthine mouths of historyJ
Pouring reply as though all ships at seaJ
Complighted in one vibrant breath made cryK
Make thy love sure to weave whose song we plyK
From black embankments moveless soundings hailedL
So seven oceans answer from their dreamG
-
And on obliquely up bright carrier barsM
New octaves trestle the twin monolithsN
Beyond whose frosted capes the moon bequeathsN
Two worlds of sleep O arching strands of songO
Onward and up the crystal flooded aisleP
White tempest nets file upward upward ringQ
With silver terraces the humming sparsN
The loft of vision palladium helm of starsN
-
Sheerly the eyes like seagulls stung with rimeG
Slit and propelled by glistening fins of lightR
Pick biting way up towering looms that pressN
Sidelong with flight of blade on tendon bladeS
Tomorrows into yesteryear and linkT
What cipher script of time no traveller readsN
But who through smoking pyres of love and deathU
Searches the timeless laugh of mythic spearsN
-
Like hails farewells up planet sequined heightsN
Some trillion whispering hammers glimmer TyreV
Serenely sharply up the long anvil cryK
Of inchling aeons silence rivets TroyW
And you aloft there Jason hesting ShoutX
Still wrapping harness to the swarming airY
Silvery the rushing wake surpassing callH
Beams yelling Aeolus splintered in the straitsN
-
From gulfs unfolding terrible of drumsN
Tall Vision of the Voyage tensely spareY
Bridge lifting night to cycloramic crestZ
Of deepest day O Choir translating timeG
Into what multitudinous Verb the sunsN
And synergy of waters ever fuse recastA2
In myriad syllables Psalm of CathayB2
O Love thy white pervasive ParadigmG
-
We left the haven hanging in the nightR
Sheened harbor lanterns backward fled the keelE
Pacific here at time s end bearing cornC2
Eyes stammer through the pangs of dust and steelE
And still the circular indubitable friezeN
Of heaven s meditation yoking waveD2
To kneeling wave one song devoutly bindsN
The vernal strophe chimes from deathless stringsN
-
O Thou steeled Cognizance whose leap commitsN
The agile precincts of the lark s returnE2
Within whose lariat sweep encinctured singQ
In single chrysalis the many twainF2
Of stars Thou art the stitch and stallion glowI
And like an organ Thou with sound of doomG
Sight sound and flesh Thou leadest from time s realmG
As love strikes clear direction for the helmG
-
Swift peal of secular light intrinsic MythG2
Whose fell unshadow is death s utter woundH2
O River throated iridescently upborneF2
Through the bright drench and fabric of our veinsN
With white escarpments swinging into lightR
Sustained in tears the cities are endowedI2
And justified conclamant with ripe fieldsN
Revolving through their harvests in sweet tormentJ2
-
Forever Deity s glittering Pledge O ThouK2
Whose canticle fresh chemistry assignsN
To wrapt inception and beatitudeJ2
Always through blinding cables to our joyW
Of thy white seizure springs the prophecyN
Always through spiring cordage pyramidsN
Of silver sequel Deity s young nameG
Kinetic of white choiring wings ascendsN
-
Migrations that must needs void memoryN
Inventions that cobblestone the heartJ2
Unspeakable Thou Bridge to Thee O LoveL2
Thy pardon for this history whitest FlowerM2
O Answerer of all AnemoneF2
Now while thy petals spend the suns about us holdJ2
O Thou whose radiance doth inherit meN
Atlantis hold thy floating singer lateJ2
-
So to thine Everpresence beyond timeG
Like spears ensanguined of one tolling starN2
That bleeds infinity the orphic stringsN
Sidereal phalanxes leap and convergeO2
One Song one Bridge of Fire Is it CathayB2
Now pity steeps the grass and rainbows ringQ
The serpent with the eagle in the leavesN
Whispers antiphonal in azure swingQ
