Passage Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFGHI JKLMN OLKPQRB ESTUV WXY MMDZA2MR

Where the cedar leaf divides the skyA
I heard the seaB
In sapphire arenas of the hillsC
I was promised an improved infancyB
-
Sulking sanctioning the sunD
My memory I left in a ravineE
Casual louse that tissues the buck wheatF
Aprons rocks congregates pearsG
In moonlit bushelsH
And wakens alleys with a hidden coughI
-
Dangerously the summer burnedJ
I had joined the entrainments of the windK
The shadows of boulders lengthened my backL
In the bronze gongs of my cheeksM
The rain dried without odourN
-
'It is not long it is not longO
See where the red and blackL
Vine stanchioned valleys ' but the windK
Died speaking through the ages that you knowP
And bug chimney sooted heart of manQ
So was I turned about and back much as your smokeR
Compiles a too well known biographyB
-
The evening was a spear in the ravineE
That throve through very oak And had I walkedS
The dozen particular decimals of timeT
Touching an opening laurel I foundU
A thief beneath my stolen book in handV
-
''Why are you back here smiling an iron coffinW
' 'To argue with the laurel ' I repliedX
'Am justified in transience fleeingY
Under the constant wonder of your eyes '-
-
He closed the book And from the PtolemiesM
Sand troughed us in a glittering abyssM
A serpent swam a vertex to the sunD
On unpaced beaches leaned its tongue andZ
drummedA2
What fountains did I hear What icy speechesM
Memory committed to the page had brokeR
