Carrier Letter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD

My hands have not touched water since your handsA
No nor my lips freed laughter since 'farewell'B
And with the day distance again expandsA
Between us voiceless as an uncoiled shellB
-
Yet much follows much endures Trust birds aloneC
A dove's wings clung about my heart last nightD
With surging gentleness and the blue stoneC
Set in the tryst ring has but worn more brightD
