'Tell me about that harvest field 'A
Oh Fifty acres of living breadB
The colour has painted itself in my heartC
The form is patterned in my headB
-
So now I take it everywhereD
See it whenever I look roundE
Hear it growing through every soundE
Know exactly the sound it makesF
Remembering as one must all dayG
Under the pavement the live earth achesF
-
Trees are at the farther endH
Limes all full of the mumbling beeI
So there must be a harvest fieldJ
Whenever one thinks of a linden treeI
-
A hedge is about it very tallK
Hazy and cool and breathing sweetL
Round paradise is such a wallK
And all the day in such a wayG
In paradise the wild birds callK
-
You only need to close your eyesM
And go within your secret mindN
And you'll be into paradiseO
I've learnt quite easily to findN
Some linden trees and drowsy beesP
A tall sweet hedge with the corn behindN
-
I will not have that harvest mownQ
I'll keep the corn and leave the breadB
I've bought that field it's now my ownQ
I've fifty acres in my headB
I take it as a dream to bedB
I carry it about all dayG
-
Sometimes when I have found a friendH
I give a blade of corn awayG
