The Wrong Story Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGHH DDII

My little Edward how could youA
Tell me a thing that was not trueA
And make me feel thus grieved and sadB
To find I have a child so badB
-
And then to do a deed so meanC
And wish by that yourself to screenC
Would you have had me blame poor TrayD
And send him from the fire awayD
-
O never when you've disobeyedE
Or by your mischief trouble madeE
Think that a wicked act is rightF
Because you hide it from my sightF
-
It will be always seen by OneG
Who knows each wrong that you have doneG
And I shall know it too no doubtH
For sin must always find you outH
-
I cannot let you here to dayD
With me and little sisters stayD
But you must go up stairs aloneI
Till you a better boy have grownI
