The Spider Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGFG

Don't kill the spider little FredA
But come and stand by meB
And watch him spin that slender threadA
Which we can hardly seeB
-
How patiently now up now downC
He brings that tiny lineD
He never stops but works right onE
And weaves his web so fineD
-
You could not make a thread so smallF
If you should try all dayG
So never hurt him dear at allF
But spare him in your playG

Janet Rehmert: Is it ok to put this poem on a slide to share with students? It goes along perfectly with what happens in chapter 10 of Charlotte's Web!
