The First Violet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB ADED FGEG AHIH JKLK KMCM

Spring has come dear motherA
I've a violet foundB
Growing in its beautyC
From the cold dark groundB
-
You are sad dear motherA
Tears are in your eyeD
You're not glad to see itE
Mother tell me whyD
-
I remember Last yearF
Where our Willie liesG
Grew the earliest violetE
Blue as were his eyesG
-
Then you told me motherA
That the flowers would fadeH
And their withered blossomsI
On the earth be laidH
-
But you said as springtimeJ
Would their buds restoreK
Willie would in heavenL
Be forevermoreK
-
Weep no more dear motherK
Violets are in bloomM
And your darling WillieC
Lives beyond the tombM
