Rhyme Scheme: ABAB ACAC DEDE AFAF FCFC

Of the childhood of our SaviourA
Tells one simple verse aloneB
Yet from that his whole behaviorA
When he was a child is knownB
-
He was subject to his motherA
So the holy Scriptures sayC
'Tis enough we need no otherA
Record of him day by dayC
-
Thus we his obedience knowingD
Know how gentle and how mildE
How in truth and goodness growingD
Was our Saviour from a childE
-
Little children who endeavorA
Like the blessed One to beF
As you try remember everA
How obedient was heF
-
If like Jesus pure and holyF
You your parents' will obeyC
You will grow more meek and lowlyF
And more like him every dayC
