Christmas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB C DE FGAG HIAI JFCF AKLK

Little children when rejoicingA
In the merry Christmas mornB
'Mid your sports remember everC
'Tis the day that Christ was bornB
-
When on earth the blessed SaviourC
Said 'Let children come to me '-
And the little ones he foldedD
In his arms how tenderlyE
-
But the Saviour is in heavenF
And we cannot see him nowG
We cannot receive his blessingA
In his presence cannot bowG
-
Listen In the holy BibleH
Jesus Christ tells every childI
That the way to gain his blessingA
Is by being good and mildI
-
Here on earth you may not see himJ
But when this short life is doneF
You shall live with him foreverC
Where there is no setting sunF
-
So remember Christmas morningA
That on earth the Saviour cameK
And that still he guards and blessesL
Every child who loves his nameK
