The Skirt Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GEFE E

Hallo Germaine that's a fine skirt you haveA
A fine skirt for a queen A cruel queenB
Let's feel the silk of it Silk from JapanC
And trimmed with wide lace made on no machineB
-
Your skirt's a silken bell whose double clapperD
Your legs have struck the passing of my fanciesE
O Germaine now I ring it my breast heavingF
My hands press down upon your willing haunchesE
-
Your bedroom O my bell is a fine belfryG
My hands touch silk and seem to tear my earsE
Those pegs are gallows on which skirts are hangingF
Those hanging men are dazzling my eyesE
-
Motionless as an owl the oil lamp watchesE
