The Mariner Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE CGHG IJKJ LMNM

The violet scent is sacredA
Like dreams of angels brightB
The hawthorn smells of passionC
Told in a moonless nightB
-
But the smell is in my nostrilsD
Through blossoms red or goldE
Of my own green flower unfadingF
A bitter smell and boldE
-
The lily smells of pardonC
The rose of mirth but mineG
Smells shrewd of death and honourH
And the doom of Adam's lineG
-
The heavy scent of wine shopsI
Floats as I pass them byJ
But never a cup I quaff fromK
And never a house have IJ
-
Till dropped down forty fathomsL
I lie eternallyM
And drink from God's own gobletN
The green wine of the seaM
