Sonnet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECDC

High on the wall that holds JerusalemA
I saw one stand under the stars like stoneB
And when I perish it shall not be knownB
Whether he lived some strolling son of ShemA
Or was some great ghost wearing the diademA
Of Solomon or Saladin on a throneB
I only know the features being unshownB
I did not dare draw near and look on themA
-
Did ye not guess the diadem might beC
Plaited in stranger style by hands of hateD
But when I looked the wall was desolateE
And the grey starlight powdered tower and treeC
And vast and vague beyond the Golden GateD
Heaved Moab of the mountains like a seaC
