Fantasia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGGGF HIJIKLMMML NOFOPQRRRQ

The happy men that lose their headsA
They find their heads in heavenB
As cherub heads with cherub wingsC
And cherub haloes evenD
Out of the infinite evening landsE
Along the sunset seaF
Leaving the purple fields behindG
The cherub wings beat down the windG
Back to the groping body and blindG
As the bird back to the treeF
-
Whether the plumes be passion redH
For him that truly diesI
By headsmen's blade or battle axeJ
Or blue like butterfliesI
For him that lost it in a laneK
In April's fits and startsL
His folly is forgiven thenM
But higher and far beyond our kenM
Is the healing of the unhappy menM
The men that lost their heartsL
-
Is there not pardon for the braveN
And broad release aboveO
Who lost their heads for libertyF
Or lost their hearts for loveO
Or is the wise man wise indeedP
Whom larger thoughts keep wholeQ
Who sees life equal like a chartR
Made strong to play the saner partR
And keep his head and keep his heartR
And only lose his soulQ
