Cyclopean Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGH IIJJ

A mountainous and mystic bruteA
No rein can curb no arrow shootA
Upon whose doomed deformed backB
I sweep the planets' scorching trackB
-
Old is the elf and wise men sayC
His hair grows green as ours grows greyC
He mocks the stars with myriad handsD
High as that swinging forest standsD
-
But though in pigmy wanderings dullE
I scour the deserts of his skullE
I never find the face eyes teethF
Lowering or laughing underneathF
-
I met my foe in an empty dellG
His face in the sun was naked hellG
I thought One silent bloody blowH
No priest would curse no crowd would know '-
-
Then cowered a daisy half concealedI
Watched for the fame of that poor fieldI
And in that flower and suddenlyJ
Earth opened its one eye on meJ
