A Novelty Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDB AEFEGE HIJIKG

Why should I care for the AgesA
Because they are old and greyB
To me like sudden laughterC
The stars are fresh and gayB
The world is a daring fancyD
And finished yesterdayB
-
Why should I bow to the AgesA
Because they were drear and dryE
Slow trees and ripening meadowsF
For me go roaring byE
A living charge a struggleG
To escalade the skyE
-
The eternal suns and systemsH
Solid and silent allI
To me are stars of an instantJ
Only the fires that fallI
From God's good rocket risingK
On this night of carnivalG
