For the Visitors' Book at the InnA
-
Who long for rest who look for pleasureB
Away from counter court or schoolC
O where live well your lease of leisureB
But here at here at Penmaen PoolC
-
You'll dare the Alp you'll dart the skiffD
Each sport has here its tackle and toolC
Come plant the staff by Cadair cliffD
Come swing the sculls on Penmaen PoolC
-
What's yonder Grizzled Dyphwys dimE
The triple hummocked Giant's stoolC
Hoar messmate hobs and nobs with himE
To halve the bowl of Penmaen PoolC
-
And all the landscape under surveyF
At tranquil turns by nature's ruleC
Rides repeated topsyturvyF
In frank in fairy Penmaen PoolC
-
And Charles's Wain the wondrous sevenG
And sheep flock clouds like worlds of woolH
For all they shine so high in heavenG
Shew brighter shaken in Penmaen PoolC
-
The Mawddach how she trips though throttledI
If floodtide teeming thrills her fullH
And mazy sands all water wattledI
Waylay her at ebb past Penmaen PoolC
-
But what's to see in stormy weatherB
When grey showers gather and gusts are coolC
Why raindrop roundels looped togetherB
That lace the face of Penmaen PoolC
-
Then even in weariest wintry hourB
Of New Year's month or surly YuleC
Furred snows charged tuft above tuft towerB
From darksome darksome Penmaen PoolC
-
And ever if bound here hardest homeJ
You've parlour pastime left and who'llC
Not honour it ale like goldy foamJ
That frocks an oar in Penmaen PoolC
-
Then come who pine for peace or pleasureB
Away from counter court or schoolC
Spend here your measure of time and treasureB
And taste the treats of Penmaen PoolC
