The Entropy Of Pleasure Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EEFG HIBJK LMNFG BBHO PQER

By the time you walk up to the oceanA
the wave has already disappearedB
replaced by another wave another sadnessC
as in passion or the light dying at duskD
-
or the shell split under your foot anotherE
scar made in the sand You can't rememberE
exactly what you need to remember White flutteringF
wings arrive in the sweet grass like lettersG
-
from someone you loved who has abandoned youH
for another city And all the signsI
read 'Dangerous Currents' 'Sea Forest'B
It's so difficult to keep track of the tracksJ
that are leading to unexpected placesK
-
Change is a way we can't easily followL
the water disappearing even the dunesM
have shifted and right when you are about to loseN
your way into the wild oats shudderingF
there are the stars in the center of sand dollarsG
-
that make you remember what you spend is spentB
the entropy of pleasure a wave's bodyB
you can't hold in your hands for long YouH
know the only way out is landmarksO
-
you can't even imagine the way we are drawnP
pulled by the tides the first stepQ
into happiness its dangerous pleasureE
licked by the water's green flamesR
