To One Consecrated Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB BCBC DEDE BEBE FEFE

Your paths were all unknown to usA
We were so far away from youB
We mixed in thought your spirit thusA
With whiteness stars of gold and dewB
-
The mighty mother nourished youB
Her breath blew from her mystic bowersC
Their elfin glimmer floated throughB
The pureness of your shadowy hoursC
-
The mighty mother made you wiseD
Gave love that clears the hidden waysE
Her glooms were glory to your eyesD
Her darkness but the Fount of DaysE
-
She made all gentleness in youB
And beauty radiant as the morn'sE
She made our joy in yours then threwB
Upon your head a crown of thornsE
-
Your eyes are filled with tender lightF
For those whose eyes are dim with tearsE
They see your brow is crowned and brightF
But not its ring of wounding spearsE
