The Memory Of Earth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIJ KLK

In the wet dusk silver sweetA
Down the violet scented waysB
As I moved with quiet feetA
I was met by mighty daysB
-
On the hedge the hanging dewC
Glassed the eve and stars and skiesD
While I gazed a madness grewC
Into thundered battle criesD
-
Where the hawthorn glimmered whiteE
Flashed the spear and fell the strokeF
Ah what faces pale and brightE
Where the dazzling battle brokeF
-
There a hero hearted queenG
With young beauty lit the vanH
Gone the darkness flowed betweenG
All the ancient wars of manH
-
While I paced the valley's gloomI
Where the rabbits pattered nearJ
Shone a temple and a tombI
With the legend carven clearJ
-
'Time put by a myriad fatesK
That her day might dawn in gloryL
Death made wide a million gatesK
So to close her tragic story '-
