The Hunter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD

Twilight a timid fawn went glimmering byA
And night the dark blue hunter followed fastB
Ceaseless pursuit and flight were in the skyA
But the long chase had ceased for us at lastB
-
We watched together while the driven fawnC
Hid in the golden thicket of the dayD
We from whose hearts pursuit and flight were goneC
Knew on the hunter's breast her refuge layD
