The Hour Of The King Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIHI JKJK ILIM

Who would think this quiet breatherA
From the world had taken flightB
Yet within the form we see thereC
Wakes the golden King to nightB
-
Out upon the face of facesD
He looked forth before his sleepE
Now he knows the starry racesD
Haunters of the ancient deepE
-
On the Bird of Diamond GloryF
Floats in mystic floods of songG
As he lists Time's triple storyF
Seems but as a day is longG
-
From the mightier Adam fallingH
To his image dwarfed in clayI
He will at our voices callingH
Come to this side of the dayI
-
When he wakes the dreamy heartedJ
He will know not whence he cameK
And the light from which he partedJ
Be the seraph's sword of flameK
-
And behind it hosts supernalI
Guarding the lost paradiseL
And the tree of life eternalI
From the weeping human eyesM
