Comfort Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE AFAF GHGH IJKJ CLBL D

Dark head by the fireside broodingA
Sad upon your earsB
Whirlwinds of the earth intrudingA
Sound in wrath and tearsC
-
Tender hearted in your lonelyD
Sorrow I would fainE
Comfort you and say that onlyD
Gods could feel such painE
-
Only spirits know such longingA
For the far awayF
And the fiery fancies throngingA
Rise not out of clayF
-
Keep the secret sense celestialG
Of the starry birthH
Though about you call the bestialG
Voices of the earthH
-
If a thousand ages sinceI
Hurled us from the throneJ
Then a thousand ages winsK
Back again our ownJ
-
Sad one dry away your tearsC
Sceptred you shall riseL
Equal mid the crystal spheresB
With seraphs kingly wiseL
-
FebruaryD
