Sonnet Xliii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCCDC

The candor of the gods is in thy gazeA
The strength of Diane in thy virgin handB
Commanding as the goddess might commandB
And lead her lovers into higher waysA
Aye the gods walk among us in these daysA
Had we the docile soul to understandB
And me they visit in this joyless landB
To cheer mine exile and receive my praiseA
-
For once methinks before the angels fellC
Thou too did follow the celestial sevenD
Threading in file the meads of asphodelC
And when thou comes here lady where I dwellC
The place is flooded with the light of heavenD
And a lost music I remember wellC
