Faith Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCDC

O WORLD thou choosest not the better partA
It is not wisdom to be only wiseB
And on the inward vision close the eyesB
But it is wisdom to believe the heartA
Columbus found a world and had no chartA
Save one that faith deciphered in the skiesB
To trust the soul'd invincible surmiseB
Was all his science and his only artA
Our knowledge is a torch of smoky pineC
That lights the pathway but one step aheadD
Across a void of mystery and dreadD
Bid then the tender light of faith to shineC
By which alone the mortal heart is leadD
Unto the thinking of the thoughts divineC
