Troubled With The Itch, And Rubbing Sulfur Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGF HIHI HJHJ KLKL

'Tis bitter yet 'tis sweetA
Scratching effects but transient easeB
Pleasure and pain together meetA
And vanish as they pleaseB
-
My nails the only balmC
To ev'ry bump are oft appliedD
And thus the rage will sweetly calmC
Which aggravates my hideD
-
It soon returns againE
A frown succeeds to ev'ry smileF
Grinning I scratch and curse the painG
But grieve to be so vileF
-
In fine I know not whichH
Can play the most deceitful gameI
The devil sulphur or the itchH
The three are but the sameI
-
The devil sows the itchH
And sulphur has a loathsome smellJ
And with my clothes as black as pitchH
I stink where'er I dwellJ
-
Excoriated deepK
By friction play'd on ev'ry partL
It oft deprives me of my sleepK
And plagues me to my heartL
