The Woodman And The Money Hunter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAAB CBCCCB DBDDDB EBEEEB

Throughout our rambles much we findA
The bee trees burst with honeyB
Wild birds we tame of every kindA
At once they seem to be resign'dA
I know but one that lags behindA
There's nothing lags but moneyB
-
The woods afford us much supplyC
The opossum coon and coneyB
They all are tame and venture nighC
Regardless of the public eyeC
I know but one among them shyC
There's nothing shy but moneyB
-
And she lies in the bankrupt shadeD
The cunning fox is funnyB
When thus the public debts are paidD
Deceitful cash is not afraidD
Where funds are hid for private tradeD
There's nothing paid but moneyB
-
Then let us roam the woods alongE
And drive the coon and coneyB
Our lead is good our powder strongE
To shoot the pigeons as they throngE
But sing no more the idle songE
Nor prowl the chase for moneyB
