The Graduate Leaving College Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHGH IJIJ

What summons do I hearA
The morning peal departure's knellB
My eyes let fall a friendly tearC
And bid this place farewellB
-
Attending servants comeD
The carriage wheels like thunders roarE
To bear the pensive seniors homeF
Here to be seen no moreE
-
Pass one more transient nightG
The morning sweeps the college cleanH
The graduate takes his last long flightG
No more in college seenH
-
The bee which courts the flowerI
Must with some pain itself employJ
And then fly at the day's last hourI
Home to its hive with joyJ
