Memory Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDF GHGH IFIF JKJF

Sweet memory like a pleasing dreamA
Still lends a dull and feeble rayB
For ages with her vestige teemsC
When beauty's trace is worn awayB
-
When pleasure with her harps unstrungD
Sits silent to be heard no moreE
Or leaves them on the willows hungD
And pass time glee forever o'erF
-
Still back in smiles thy glory stealsG
With ev'ning dew drops from thine eyeH
The twilight bursting from thy wheelsG
Ascends and bids oblivion flyH
-
Memory thy bush prevails to bloomI
Design'd to fade no never neverF
Will stamp thy vestige on the tombI
And bid th' immortal live foreverF
-
When youth's bright sun has once declinedJ
And bid his smiling day expireK
Mem'ry thy torch steals up behindJ
And sets thy hidden stars on fireF
