To Dives. A Fragment Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCBDC

Unhappy Dives in an evil hourA
'Gainst Nature's voice seduced to deeds accurstB
Once Fortune's minion now thou feel'st her powerA
Wrath's vial on thy lofty head bath burstB
In Wit in Genius as in Wealth the firstB
How wondrous bright thy blooming morn aroseC
But thou went smitten with th' unhallow'd thirstB
Of crime un named and thy sad noon must closeD
In scorn and solitude unsought the worst of woesC

George Gordon Byron
