Sonnet To Lake Leman Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCBBCDEDEDE

Rousseau Voltaire our Gibbon De Sta lA
Leman these names are worthy of thy shoreB
Thy shore of names like these wert thou no moreB
Their memory thy remembrance would recallC
To them thy banks were lovely as to allC
But they have made them lovelier for the loreB
Of mighty minds doth hallow in the coreB
Of human hearts the ruin of a wallC
Where dwelt the wise and wondrous but by theeD
How much more Lake of Beauty do we feelE
In sweetly gliding o'er thy crystal seaD
The wild glow of that not ungentle zealE
Which of the heirs of immortalityD
Is proud and makes the breath of glory realE
