Napoleon's Farewell (from The French) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCBDBE ABFBFGHGH AIJIKLMLM

IA
Farewell to the Land where the gloom of my GloryB
Arose and o'ershadow'd the earth with her nameC
She abandons me now but the page of her storyB
The brightest or blackest is fill'd with my fameC
I have warr'd with a world which vanquish'd me onlyB
When the meteor of conquest allured me too farD
I have coped with the nations which dread me thus lonelyB
The last single Captive to millions in warE
-
IIA
Farewell to thee France when thy diadem crown'd meB
I made thee the gem and the wonder of earthF
But thy weakness decrees I should leave as I found theeB
Decay'd in thy glory and sunk in thy worthF
Oh for the veteran hearts that were wastedG
In strife with the storm when their battles were wonH
Then the Eagle whose gaze in that moment was lastedG
Had still soar'd with eyes fix'd on victory's sunH
-
IIIA
Farewell to thee France but when Liberty ralliesI
Once more in thy regions remember me thenJ
The violet still grows in the depth of thy valleysI
Though wither'd thy tear will unfold itK
Yet yet I may baffle the hosts that sur round usL
And yet may thy heart leap awake to my voiceM
There are links which must break in the chain that has bound usL
Then turn thee and call on the Chief of thy choiceM
