My Soul Is Dark Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEF GHGHHIHI

My soul is dark Oh quickly stringA
The harp I yet can brook to hearB
And let thy gentle fingers flingA
Its melting murmurs o'er mine earB
If in this heart a hope be dearC
That sound shall charm it forth againD
If in these eyes there lurk a tearE
'Twill flow and cease to burn my brainF
-
But bid the strain be wild and deepG
Nor let thy notes of joy be firstH
I tell thee minstrel I must weepG
Or else this heavy heart will burstH
For it hath been by sorrow nursedH
And ached in sleepless silence longI
And now 'tis doomed to know the worstH
And break at once or yield to songI
