From Anacreon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEFFGGHHIJKKABLL MMNNGG

I wish to tune my quivering lyreA
To deed of fame and notes of fireB
To echo from its rising swellC
How heroes fought and nations fellC
When Atreus' sons advanced to warD
Or Tyrian Cadmus roved afarE
But still to martial strains unknownF
My lyre recurs to love aloneF
Fired with the hope of future fameG
I seek some nobler hero's nameG
The dying chords are strung anewH
To war to war my harp is dueH
With glowing strings the epic strainI
To Jove's great son I raise againJ
Alcides and his glorious deedsK
Beneath whose arm the Hydra bleedsK
All all in vain my wayward lyreA
Wakes silver notes of soft desireB
Adieu ye chiefs renown'd in armsL
Adieu the clang of war's alarmsL
To other deeds my soul is strungM
And sweeter notes shall now be sungM
My harp shall all its powers revealN
To tell the tale my heart must feelN
Love Love alone my lyre shall claimG
In songs of bliss and sighs of flameG
