Away, Away, Ye Notes Of Woe! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDF GHGHIJIJ KLKLMNMN OPOPQRQR S

Away away ye notes of woeA
Be silent thou once soothing strainB
Or I must flee from hence for ohA
I dare not trust those sounds againC
To me they speak of brighter daysD
But lull the chords for now alasE
I must not think I may not gazeD
On what I am on what I wasF
-
The voice that made those sounds more sweetG
Is hush'd and all their charms are fledH
And now their softest notes repeatG
A dirge an anthem o'er the deadH
Yes Thyrza yes they breathe of theeI
Beloved dust since dust thou artJ
And all that once was harmonyI
Is worse than discord to my heartJ
-
'Tis silent all but on my earK
The well remember'd echoes thrillL
I hear a voice I would not hearK
A voice that now might well be stillL
Yet oft my doubting soul 'twill shakeM
Even slumber owns its gentle toneN
Till consciousness will vainly wakeM
To listen though the dream be flownN
-
Sweet Thyrza waking as in sleepO
Thou art but now a lovely dreamP
A star that trembled o'er the deepO
Then turn'd from earth its tender beamP
But he who through life's dreary wayQ
Must pass when heaven is veil'd in wrathR
Will long lament the vanish'd rayQ
That scatter'd gladness o'er his pathR
