To Helene Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBDEE FGFGHC IJIJKK ELMNEE

On a Gift ring carelessly lostA
-
-
I sent a ring a little bandB
Of emerald and ruby stoneC
And bade it sparkling on thy handB
Tell thee sweet tales of oneD
Whose constant memoryE
Was full of loveliness and theeE
-
A shell was graven on its goldF
'Twas Cupid fix'd without his wingsG
To Helene once it would have toldF
More than was ever told by ringsG
But now all 's past and goneH
Her love is buried with that stoneC
-
Thou shalt not see the tears that startI
From eyes by thoughts like these beguiledJ
Thou shalt not know the beating heartI
Ever a victim and a childJ
Yet Helene love believeK
The heart that never could deceiveK
-
I'll hear thy voice of melodyE
In the sweet whispers of the airL
I'll see the brightness of thine eyeM
In the blue evening's dewy starN
In crystal streams thy purityE
And look on Heaven to look on theeE
