My Youth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB BABA ACAD

Oh my youth was hot and eagerA
And my heart was burning burningB
And the present joy seemed meagreA
Dwarfed by that perpetual yearningB
-
I was always madly askingB
Ampler beauty keener pleasureA
Had not wit enough for baskingB
In the sunshine rich with leisureA
-
Now with ripeness of OctoberA
I have reasoned and reflectedC
And I feed my soul grown soberA
With the crumbs that I rejectedD
