Hope Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEE

When I was a little boyA
I followed hope and slighted joyA
Now my wit has larger scopeB
I clutch at joy and heed not hopeB
-
At least that doctrine I professC
For there I know lies happinessD
But hope for all the shifts I tryE
Will be my sovereign till I dieE
