All Day She Quiet Lay Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB CDCD CCEC CFCG

All day she quiet lay lost in a tranceA
The closing shadows all of her embracingB
The madcap rain of summer frisked and prancedC
At leaves it drummed down garden paths went racingB
-
And slowly slowly she revived and soughtC
To hear its voice its warm and merry patterD
Withdrawn she lay plunged deep in conscious thoughtC
And listened to the rushing singing waterD
-
Then suddenly she sighed and spoke I heardC
I was alive alive through force of habitC
The softly whispered simple broken wordsE
O how I loved it all O how I loved itC
-
You loved To love so well none ever durstC
Then even such love fades to be it ceasesF
To watch you die and live How did my heart not burstC
Not break O God into a thousand piecesG
