| If not the engine surely stalls | C |
| The same fate I fear for my heart | D |
| Since space and time keeps us apart | D |

| Enemies Enemies are they | E |
| Distance and the fitful fretting | F |
| And the handy excuses we've to slay | E |
| Instead cultivate caressing and petting | F |
| So when we can't meet at least call | G |
| This will please and profit us all | G |
