My mind won't take a break | A |
Oh dear mind if you could | B |
go back to the days when your thoughts were good | B |

The thoughts that cling to my mind | C |
showing me peace is hard to find | C |
I wonder could I have found it if I was blind | C |
The images storming my brain are hard to set aside | D |

Lucky are you who think of the sky and butterflies | E |
Some think of pain betrayal and lies | E |
Others worse | F |
But lucky are you to even think of something | G |
Others its total bewildering | G |

The chains that bind one is mental | H |
Its never physical | H |
I still think is it bad to be emotional | H |

People wanting you to break free from this mind prison | I |
But you don't want to because you don't have a reason | I |
You feel safer when you in there | J |
Because you don't know what you'll find else where | J |

The world is too big and so wide | D |
Am afraid of been lost like a needle in the desert | K |
Yet not realizing am already lost | L |
Lost in my own mind | C |

The mind is more wide than the world is | M |
A dangerous place to lose yourself | N |
Almost impossible to get out | O |

But then I stop and think | P |

Poet's note: I wrote this poem for the world, I want to help the world understand the meaning of depression and help the depressed find their way out. This poem means a lot to me for I wrote it with my whole heart.
