Words Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAA BBACD ECDE

WORDS are but passing symbols of the deepA
Crying unto deep in individual soulsB
And men are words on the great voice that rollsB
Through Nature since that morn when from their sleepA
The elements heard and they who vigil keepA
-
On Heaven's battlements to distant polesB
Re echoed Let light be such voice as tollsB
The birth and death of all who laugh or weepA
Not uniform but in a wondrous planC
Each diverse from his fellows symbol eachD
-
Of varying thought in the eternal mindE
Now at the feet of every age of manC
We sit and learn Haply in perfect speechD
Its voice will be God's message to our kindE
