Lines Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAC DAEFG EGHE

I SOMETIMES think that had I seen Thy faceA
In those old days when Thou wast with us hereB
Clothed with our flesh a man as we are menC
The very sight had filled my soul with graceA
I should have clung to Thee and not againC
-
Moved from Thy side no lurking doubt or fearD
Could drive me from so sweet a hiding placeA
So think I sometimes and would almost prayE
That other age were chosen my faith to proveF
More near Thine own if such a prayer might beG
-
Full of Thy memories But no each dayE
Hath its own light O Christ and proofs of TheeG
For there was one who saw Thy look of loveH
Yet having wealth went sorrowful awayE
