Inscription Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE FGHAI JKLMN OPQDAY after day | A |
As I have wandered thro' the fields of life | B |
Gay happy fields bright with the sun and sky | C |
Flower after flower | D |
Has bloomed beside my path | E |
- | |
And I have gathered them a long loved handful | F |
Which I offer now | G |
To the unpitying cruel laughing world | H |
And some are gay | A |
Sparkling with joy and the bright sun of hope | I |
- | |
And some are sad | J |
Dipped in the crimson of the setting sun | K |
Or blasted by the cold of winter winds | L |
Buy all the roots | M |
Are down far down within the spirit's depths | N |
- | |
Amid the voiceless shadows of the soul | O |
And each has sprung | P |
From the warm life blood throbbing in my heart | Q |
