Of anguish on that pallid face | D |
The patient hero wins the race | D |

In Nature's whitest swathing bands | E |
A snow veil on his face and hands | E |
And silence on those northern lands | E |

A light from where God's temple stands | E |
The new born soul in Paradise | F |
Forgets the snow and wintry skies | G |
Forgets in sunny Paradise | F |
