One Hour Ater The Dance Of Death Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH BIJ KLM

I lay in the abyss where twisting squeezingA
The lowest form of life pushed itself peristalticallyB
Where slippery and slimy worm and eel entwinedC
I was a worm myself overwhelmed with exhaustionD
-
This lasted an eon before I succeededE
And one of my senses could slowly lift itself upF
The sense of hearing Listening it scouted out ifG
The dancer Death had finally waltzed into the distanceH
-
I eavesdrop breathless Then a sparkling chromatic scaleB
Flows wanly from the open window next doorI
Maybe Death is sitting there tuning his pianoJ
-
And while my life enjoys zestfully eating and fills with gasK
I feel him lean in that requisite little side roomL
Where he invisibly reads rustling the evening paperM
