Rhyme Scheme: ABCB CDCD CEFE CGHG IJKJ LMCM NOGO OPQR SJTJ

All stark and cold the merchant layA
All cold and stark lay heB
And who hath killed the fair merchantC
Now tell the truth to meB
-
Oh I have killed this fair merchantC
Will never again draw breathD
Oh I have made this fair merchantC
To come unto his deathD
-
Oh why hast thou killed this fair merchantC
Whose corpse I now beholdE
And why hast caused this man to lieF
In death all stark and coldE
-
Oh I have killed this fair merchantC
Whose kith and kin make moanG
For that he hath stolen my precious timeH
When he useth the telephoneG
-
The telephone bell rang full and clearI
The receiver did I seizeJ
Hello quoth I and quoth a girlK
Hello One moment pleaseJ
-
I waited moments ane and twaL
And moments three and fourM
And then I sought the fair merchantC
And spilled his selfish goreM
-
That business man who scorneth to wasteN
His moments sae rich and fineO
In calling a man to the telephoneG
Shall never again waste mineO
-
And every time a henchwomanO
Shall cause me a moment's lossP
I'll forthwith fare to that officeQ
And stab to death her bossR
-
Rise up Rise up thou bless d knightS
And off thy bended kneesJ
Go forth and slay all folk who makeT
Us wait One moment pleaseJ
